Aurea Imaging divests breeder phenotyping activities to Hiphen to focus on Orchard Management solutions

At Aurea Imaging, innovation has always been at the core of our activities. As part of our continued evolution, we are excited to announce that we have sold our phenotyping activities for breeders to Hiphen, a global leader in drone-based image analytics for agriculture.

This strategic move marks a significant milestone for both companies. By transferring our breeder phenotyping activities to Hiphen, we are enabling them to expand their capabilities and strengthen their position as the leading provider of advanced image analytics and predictive solutions for crop science organizations worldwide.

For Aurea Imaging, this transition allows us to sharpen our focus on what we do best: empowering fruit growers with precision orchard management solutions. Our flagship product, the TreeScout, provides growers with tree-level insights to optimize spraying, pruning, and fertilization, reducing inputs while enhancing yield. With this renewed focus, we aim to accelerate the TreeScout’s global rollout, delivering even greater value to orchard managers everywhere.

Since our founding, Aurea has been privileged to collaborate with leading seed breeders worldwide. This divestment allows us to accelerate the roll-out of the TreeScout, while at the same time ensuring that our customers will benefit from Hiphen’s state-of-the-art drone phenotyping platform and analytics to further their research initiatives,” said Joost Hazelhoff, CEO of Aurea Imaging. “We are committed to a robust handover process to ensure a seamless transition for our customers”

Under this transition, breeders currently working with Aurea will gain access to Hiphen’s expertise through their Cloverfield Data Platform under the PhenoScale® product line. This ensures continuity and enhances support for research initiatives, enabling deeper insights and more efficient decision-making for breeders worldwide.

We are confident this divestment will benefit all stakeholders. Hiphen is perfectly positioned to carry forward our work in phenotyping for breeders, while Aurea Imaging will continue driving innovation in orchard management. Together, these efforts will contribute to advancing agricultural research and fostering a sustainable future for global food production.

Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting new chapter, and thank you for being part of our journey!
